Dear Delegates,
As the dais of the World Bank Board of Executive Directors, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2010 Houston Area Model United Nations conference. This year delegates will debate the issues concerning climate change in developing nations and we will cover the challenges in the rising cost of food. We highly encourage all students to study and research these topics as they are of vital importance to every country.
We would like to remind you to study the Rules of Procedure, located in your Conference Guide, so you can fully enjoy the model United Nations experience. As delegates, it is your responsibility to come up with lasting solutions for the individual issues. It is imperative that you come to conference prepared and be familiar with your country's view of the issues.

Paola Eiser is a freshman at Brown University in Rhode Island studying International Relations and Environmental Studies. She is concurrently enrolled in the Rhode Island School of Design studying Illustration. This will be her fifth year with HAMUN.
Shirley Lu is a freshman at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This is her fourth year in HAMUN.
