UNICEF Executive Board
Chairperson(s): UNICEF
Dear Delegates,
As the dais of the United Nation's Fund for Children (UNICEF), We would like to welcome you to the 35th annual Houston Area Model United Nations Conference. We are very excited to oversee the dynamic discussions which will result from the high level debate.
In the face of globalization, it is imperative for us to address the issues that significantly impact the lives of children around the world. Children are the future leaders of this world, and the mentality that they possess is greatly affected by the circumstances which surround them. For this reason, an effort must be made to improve the quality of life for them. Consequently, this year we will be discussing two issues that concern the well being of children during special circumstances and as well as throughout their lifetime. We will be formulating and debating ideas which are related to the welfare and security of children who are either directly involved in armed conflict. We will also deliberate the possibility of universalizing primary education and the social, political, and economic effects of this action.
We highly urge all delegates to research these issues throughly and develop positions which reflect the perspectives of each delegate's country. Keep in mind that creativity is the key to developing solutions to these problems.
We look forward to meeting all of you at the Conference.
