About this Committee
Established in 1923, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) serves as the world’s premier and largest international police cooperation body. With 196 member countries, INTERPOL works to strengthen global collaboration in combating transnational crime (like terrorism, human trafficking, cybercrime, and drug trafficking). Member states coordinate efforts through INTERPOL's General Secretariat, regional bureaus, and its secure communication network, I-24/7. In addition to addressing crime across borders, INTERPOL also assists countries in crisis response, international investigations, and capacity-building for law enforcement. By promoting information exchange and coordination of operations, INTERPOL aims to ensure that justice is levied and security is extended across borders, supporting the development of safer and more resilient societies worldwide.
