Rendering Balanced, Long-Term Methods of Recovery & Development for Surrounding Regions Affected by The Conflict in Ukraine

Balancing Development & Local Communities in Tourism-Dependent Regions

About this Committee

The United Nations Development Programme was formed 61 years ago, established through the UN Special Fund and the Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance. The UNDP's main actions are focused towards long-term provisions that help create resilient governments and nations. The programme has assisted in funding many development opportunities, providing nearly $2.3 billion in environmental grants and aiding 132 countries in combatting poverty. The UNDP also specializes supporting human rights efforts in developing regions by promoting democratic governance and gender equality. In recent years, many instances of conflict or natural disaster have resulted in socio-economic or infrastructural damage. The UNDP has helped many nations in recovery and restoration efforts, and the programme will continue to raise funding and long term assistance to support the development of sustainable communities.
