Specialized Committees
Specialized committees are smaller committees often with rules that are akin to those of traditional standard GA committees, but with a focus on a more niche topic area, or with some slightly less traditional rules and procedures. Specialized committees lie somewhere in between standard and crisis committees. Because they are smaller than standard committees, at only 30 to 60 spots available per room, they are a great place to have faster-paced, more nuanced debate as delegates will have more frequent opportunities to voice opinions in debate and learn to build tight knit leadership groups that incorporate wider ranges of perspectives. Specialized committees are the perfect place for delegates who are passionate about a particular topic and/or love faster paced debate in a smaller group of peers to throw around ideas and feel very engaged.
